Abstract
The article focuses on key events and discussions at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee's (ADC) 2023 convention, highlighting awards given to individuals and organizations supporting Palestinian causes, including the Mariam Foundation and journalist Said Arikat. It also addresses challenges in Arab American media representation, emphasizing the need to counter stereotypes and increase diverse, authentic storytelling, particularly by women. Additionally, the article examines the controversial use of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism, which critics argue restricts Palestinian activism and free speech, citing cases where its application has led to legal and institutional pressures against pro-Palestinian voices in academia and public discourse.
