Abstract

The article focuses on a study that investigates the factors influencing users' willingness to purchase intelligent vehicles (IVs) through the framework of technology paternalism (TP). Conducted in Macao, People's Republic of China, the research utilized social exchange theory and involved 271 valid responses analyzed using the PLS-SEM approach. Key findings indicate that autonomy significantly shapes perceptions of TP, with psychological resistance positively influencing the intention to purchase IVs, while perceived value has a negative impact. The study also highlights gender differences in the effects of TP on purchasing willingness and offers recommendations for enterprises and governments promoting IVs. [Extracted from the article]
