Abstract
Jeremy Pope, an actor known for his work on stage and screen, has revealed his talent for photography through a new photo series called "FLEX(bitch)." The series explores different depictions of masculinity, influenced by Pope's father, a bodybuilder and pastor. The exhibition includes portraits of a boy with a Bible, toned male physiques, and Pope himself in drag alongside RuPaul's Drag Race winner Symone. Pope reflects on the influence of the Black church and the queer community's expectations of masculinity, as well as his own journey of self-acceptance. The project was a collaborative and transformative experience for both Pope and Symone. [Extracted from the article]
