Abstract

If Betts is the "modern-day Rickey Henderson", Freeman gets comparisons to Tony Gwynn from Roberts, who adds that Freeman is doing it at a time when "hitting is harder than it's ever been." FEATURES Like a good sommelier, the Los Angeles Dodgers offered up some fine pairings this season. Both Betts and Freeman reached the 120-run mark in early September, becoming the sixth pair of Dodgers teammates this century to score that often and the first since Maury Wills (130) and Tommy Davis (120) in 1962. It's difficult to imagine how the Dodgers would have been anywhere near their 10th NL West division title in 11 years without Betts and Freeman leading the way. Extracted from the article
