Abstract
This study investigates musculoskeletal (MSK) injury prevalence, physical activity (PA) levels, and demographic characteristics among female aerial acrobatics athletes in western Saudi Arabia. Among 60 participants (mean age 28.7 years), 60% reported high PA levels, and 20% had current MSK injuries, primarily affecting the back, knee, and wrist. Injury occurrence showed significant correlations with body mass index (BMI) and warm-up/cool-down practices but not with age, experience level, or type of aerial acrobatics. The findings suggest relatively low injury rates potentially linked to supervision and safety protocols, highlighting the need for further research with larger samples and biomechanical assessments to inform injury prevention strategies in this emerging sport.
