Abstract
This article focuses on Prince Paul Alpert, a professional clown who performed with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for many years. Despite being less than four feet tall, Alpert was highly respected for his strong work ethic, comedic talent, and mentorship of younger clowns. The text highlights his preference for being called a dwarf rather than a midget and shares anecdotes illustrating his humor, pride, and experiences within the circus community. Photographs and stories from his career, including his role in the 1952 film *The Greatest Show on Earth*, further document his contributions to the art of clowning.
