Abstract
This article discusses various artists and their collections throughout European history from the 15th to the 19th century. It explores the relationship between artists and their collections, highlighting the importance of valets de chambre and ducal collections in the 15th century, as well as the influence of friendship on artists' collections. The article also delves into the collections of specific artists, such as Pablo de Céspedes, Bernardino Poccetti, Francisco de Solís, Vincenzo Carducci, and others. It concludes by examining the role of artists as collectors and scholars, particularly in relation to the Spanish court and the growth of Philip IV's collection.
