Abstract
The Major League Baseball players union settled a lawsuit with FanDuel over the unauthorized use of player names and likenesses on its betting platform. A confidential licensing agreement was signed, and the claims were dismissed with prejudice, preventing re-filing. Similar complaints have been brought against other sports betting companies, including DraftKings, by the union. The issue of controlling the commercial use of athletes' names, images, and likenesses was highlighted in the lawsuit. [Extracted from the article]
