Abstract

The article discusses Mandingo Warriors Black Indian tribe leader Victor Harris Sr.'s celebration of the 2024 Carnival Day in New Orleans, Louisiana which will be the last time he will emerge as the Spirit of Fi Yi Yi. Topics discussed include Harris' banishment from the Yellow Pocahontas in 1984 which led to the rise of Fi Yi Yi spirituality, his masking as a Mardi Gras Indian during the Carnival Day and the decision to transfer leadership to his son Victor Jr. in the future.
