Abstract
Editor's Note: After the 1943 season, Bill Dickey spent two years in the Pacific theater with the U.S. Navy. But his main concentration goes to hunting and baseball, and you'll find that Dickey has a complete grip on the situation in the most crucial moment of a World Series game. Then from back of the plate a tall, gangling Arkansas catcher by the name of Bill Dickey tossed off his mask, stuck his big glove under his left armpit, and strolled out to the mound. The record books will show you that Dickey is the only catcher who ever handled over 100 games thirteen years in succession. Extracted from the article
