Abstract

Dodge, owned by Stellantis NV, is introducing its first all-electric muscle car this year, while still offering customers the option of a gas-powered engine. The Charger will be released this summer as the brand's first electric vehicle (EV), followed by a four-door EV and a gas-powered model with a more efficient turbo engine next year. Dodge aims to differentiate its EVs from competitors like Tesla by offering unique features such as color-changing interior lighting, a button on the steering wheel for a temporary horsepower boost, and a camera for racers to film themselves. The EVs will be manufactured in Ontario, Canada, and will initially use batteries from Samsung SDI in Korea, transitioning to batteries from a joint venture between Stellantis and Samsung in Indiana after 2025.
