Abstract

This article from All About History highlights two defining moments in history. The first event occurred on October 17, 1979, when Mother Teresa, a nun known for her humanitarian work, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts in helping those in need. The second event took place on October 31, 1941, when the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota was completed after 24 years of work. The sculpture, carved into the face of Mount Rushmore, depicts four American presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. These moments serve as important milestones in the fields of humanitarianism and American history. [Extracted from the article]
