Abstract

This article focuses on a study conducted by Russian State Social University investigating the relationship between moral standards, social sport values, prosocial behavior, psychological resistance, and well-being among Russian athletes. The research involved 174 athletes from team and individual sports, assessing their adherence to values such as respect, fairness, and teamwork, and measuring prosocial and antisocial behaviors using validated psychological scales. Findings indicate that prosocial behavior, especially toward teammates and the national team, correlates positively with psychological resilience and subjective well-being, and that athletes can be categorized into four types based on these characteristics. The study highlights moral standards and prosocial behavior as internal resources that support athletes’ psychological health and sports identity during competition and training.
