Abstract
The Olympic Games and the Paralympics will be held in France in July-August and August-September respectively, with most events in Paris. The organisers have revolutionised the Games. For the first time ever, both opening ceremonies will take place outside of a stadium, along two of the major arteries of Paris: the Seine and the Champs-Elysées. Eight hundred and seventy-eight competitions will take place, and 4500 medals are to be awarded across the 32 Olympic and 22 Paralympic sports programmes. The Paris 2024 Organising Committee have set high standards for ensuring the delivery of a spectacular event that is responsible, sustainable and inclusive. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
