Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the relationship between quality of life (QoL) and athletic performance among male and female athletes with physical disabilities participating in individual sports in Bushehr, Iran. The research involved 338 athletes and utilized the SF-36 questionnaire to measure QoL, alongside official competition records for sports performance. Findings indicated that athletes reported high levels of QoL, with no significant differences between genders or correlations between QoL and sports performance. The study suggests that while participation in individual sports may enhance physical functioning and psychological resilience, these associations should be interpreted cautiously. Encouraging such participation could support health and social inclusion for individuals with disabilities. [Extracted from the article]
