Abstract
A minority stake in the San Francisco Giants is up for sale, potentially valuing the team at around $4 billion. The team is currently owned by approximately 30 partners, including former player Buster Posey and investor Arctos Sports Partners. The stake being sold is less than 5% and is related to estate planning. The Giants have been financially successful, in contrast to the troubled Oakland Athletics, and have invested in redeveloping their stadium. Minority stake sales in sports teams have become more notable due to the rising valuations of teams. [Extracted from the article]
