Abstract
This article focuses on Enrique Martin Ocaña, a recent University of Strathclyde graduate and runner-up at the Young Software Engineer of the Year awards sponsored by BCS, recognized for his development of an educational technology (EdTech) app using autoregressive language models to enhance classroom learning. Currently a performance engineer at Aston Martin Formula 1, Ocaña designs applications that extract and process key performance data from race cars to support strategists and analysts during high-pressure race events. His EdTech project aims to increase student engagement by personalizing educational content, inspired by a physics teacher who used storytelling to motivate students. Ocaña advises aspiring tech professionals to gain hands-on experience through creating projects and continuous learning, emphasizing the importance of practical skills development.
