Abstract
The article discusses the implementation of a new tiebreaker rule in Major League Baseball (MLB) that introduces a "swing off" to determine the winner of All-Star Games that end in a tie after nine innings. This rule, which allows players to compete in a home run derby format, was first showcased during the 2025 All-Star Game, where Kyle Schwarber's performance secured victory for the National League. Additionally, the article highlights the upcoming Automated Balls-Strikes (ABS) Challenge System, which enables players to dispute umpire calls, adding a strategic element to the game. The ABS system aims to reduce disputes over ball and strike calls and has been tested in minor leagues since 2019. Extracted from the article
