Abstract

This article from Baseball Digest provides a comprehensive overview of the career achievements of Willie Mays, a legendary baseball player. Mays holds numerous records, including being named a starter in the All-Star Game 18 times and having the most hits in All-Star Game history. He is the only player in MLB history to have at least 3,000 hits, a .300 batting average, 300 home runs, and 300 stolen bases. Mays also achieved the rare combination of hitting 50 home runs and stealing 20 bases in a single season. He received two National League Most Valuable Player awards and recorded at least 70 extra-base hits in 13 consecutive seasons. Mays is the only player to hit a home run in every inning from one through 16 and won 12 Gold Glove Awards.
