Abstract
This article explores how Dutch swimmers consistently achieve Olympic success by minimizing performance variability through personalized preparation and advanced data analytics. Johan Kenkhuis, an Olympic medalist and coach, emphasizes the importance of individualized routines involving equipment, nutrition, sleep, and mental readiness to eliminate weak points during competition. The InnoSportLab de Tongelreep in Eindhoven employs biomechanical and physiological measurement systems to provide evidence-based feedback, exemplified by the improvement of Olympic champion Ranomi Kromowidjojo's start technique. The Netherlands' swimming achievements are attributed to a combination of smart use of technology, a compact sports infrastructure, and social factors such as women's emancipation, with nearly 80% of Dutch swimming medals won by women. The article also offers practical advice for recreational swimmers on monitoring stroke efficiency to enhance performance.
