Abstract
This article focuses on the diagnosis and management of a nondisplaced coracoid process fracture in a 16-year-old male athlete following a skiing injury. It highlights the importance of clinical examination guided by injury mechanism and symptom localization, as well as the use of specific radiographic views—particularly the axillary view—to identify coracoid fractures, which are rare and often occur with other shoulder injuries. The case demonstrates successful conservative treatment without surgical intervention, emphasizing activity modification and pain management, with gradual return to sport after radiographic evidence of healing. The article also discusses existing adult classification systems for coracoid fractures, noting their limitations in pediatric cases involving physeal injuries, and recommends orthopedic referral for advanced imaging or surgical consideration when indicated.
