Abstract
The NFL has implemented new kickoff rules for the upcoming season in an effort to eliminate injuries and increase excitement. The changes involve players lining up in closer quarters and specific rules for where the ball lands and how it is returned. During the 2024 preseason, over 70% of kickoffs were returned compared to 54.8% the previous year. However, some experts believe that teams will continue to kick the ball beyond the end zone once the regular season begins. The new rules will be evaluated throughout the year, and adjustments may be made if necessary. [Extracted from the article]
