Abstract
Nordic skating, a Scandinavian import, is gaining popularity in North America. The sport involves using Nordic ski boots clipped into ski bindings on long skate blades, offering more stability and glide than traditional ice skates. Nordic skating is becoming popular among cross country skiers in New England due to unreliable snow conditions and accessible ice. Beginners can start at outdoor skating centers or join clinics and tours to learn about safety and find suitable ice. Nordic Skater offers equipment online, and Facebook groups provide forums for information and local ice conditions. Extracted from the article
