Abstract
The Oakland Athletics will be playing in West Sacramento for three seasons before moving to Las Vegas, marking the end of their 57-year tenure in the Bay Area. They will be playing at Sutter Health Park, which currently hosts the minor league Sacramento River Cats. The team's lease at the Oakland Coliseum ends this season, and the new ballpark in Vegas will not be completed for several years. The Athletics' move to Sacramento is part of their ongoing efforts to upgrade or build new facilities, as their previous proposal for a new stadium in Oakland fell through due to legal challenges. Last year, they selected Las Vegas as their new home and will be constructing a new stadium at the site of the recently closed Tropicana Hotel. [Extracted from the article]
