Abstract
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled in favor of Romania's Olympic committee, stating that U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles was incorrectly awarded a bronze medal in the floor exercise finals. Chiles initially landed in fifth place but her coach successfully submitted an inquiry that raised her difficulty score, placing her in third. However, the inquiry was deemed to have been filed four seconds too late, resulting in the bronze medal being given to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu. U.S.A. Gymnastics expressed disappointment and plans to appeal the decision to ensure fair scoring and medal placement for Chiles. [Extracted from the article]
