Abstract
The article focuses on two books documenting distinct aspects of American roadside and leisure culture. The first, *UnStuck*, is a memoir chronicling the history of Stuckey's, a roadside business founded during the Great Depression by W. S. Stuckey, Sr., and later revived by his granddaughter Stephanie, who shares her experiences managing and expanding the brand. The second, *Bowlarama: The Architecture of Mid-Century Bowling* by Chris Nichols and Adriene Biondo, explores the rise and architectural significance of bowling centers in the late 1950s and early 1960s, highlighting their design innovations, cultural impact, and eventual decline. Both works combine historical research with personal narratives and emphasize the intersection of business, architecture, and social history in shaping American roadside and recreational experiences.
