Abstract

The US team of international sailing competition SailGP has been acquired by a group of investors, led by former Uber executive Ryan McKillen and world champion sailor Mike Buckley, in the sport's largest team deal to date. The acquisition surpasses the previous valuation of the UK's Emirates GBR sail team. The group of investors includes celebrity backers such as actress Issa Rae, pro boxer Deontay Wilder, entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, and NFL players DeAndre Hopkins and Roquan Smith.
