Abstract
The National Hockey League (NHL) has approved the relocation of the Arizona Coyotes to Utah for the next season. Ryan Smith, the owner of the Utah Jazz, has purchased the Coyotes' hockey operations, including the player roster and draft picks, from Alex Meruelo. The Utah franchise will have a new name and will play at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The Coyotes have faced challenges with finding a stable venue and ownership since moving to Arizona in 1996. The deal provides a fresh start for the troubled franchise and fulfills Smith's two-year quest to bring a hockey team to Utah. [Extracted from the article]
