San Diego Padres Right Fielder Loses Breach of Contract Arbitration.

Abstract

The article focuses on recent leadership changes and legal developments in sports organizations. Vanessa Vogler has been appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the PGA of America, overseeing legal, operational, and event functions, while longtime Chief Legal and Risk Officer Henry Smokler has moved to a senior advisory role. Drew Blasband was promoted to General Counsel, and Ted Koehler to Deputy General Counsel. Additionally, arbitrator Anthony J. Carpinello ruled that San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. must pay $3.74 million to Big League Advance (BLA) for breaching a contract involving an advance on future earnings, despite Tatis' ongoing lawsuit alleging predatory practices by BLA. Lastly, sports law attorney John G.
