Abstract

A study conducted by the University of Turin in Italy analyzed the impact of calling a time-out before power-play in water polo matches. The research found that both senior and youth levels had better power-play outcomes without a time-out, with higher goals scored and fewer 'no goal' events. Coaches could benefit from these findings by understanding the consequences of time-outs on power-play and defensive strategies when opponents call a time-out. The study was published in Frontiers in Psychology and can be accessed online for further information. [Extracted from the article]
