Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the application of the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) method to support reading comprehension among third-grade students with mild Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Indonesia. Conducted by researchers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka, the qualitative case study involved three students and one teacher, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation to gather data. Key findings revealed that the SSR method, particularly when adapted with culturally relevant materials, enhanced student engagement, comprehension, and self-confidence, highlighting the need for inclusive and contextually relevant literacy strategies in education. The study suggests that tailored SSR approaches can effectively foster active participation and self-efficacy in students with special needs. [Extracted from the article]
