Abstract
The article focuses on the historical significance of Nice in the Tour de France, highlighting its role in the 1950 race during stage 15 to Menton, won by Luxembourg's Bim Diederich. Switzerland's Ferdi Kübler, who had taken the yellow jersey three days earlier, maintained his lead to ultimately win the Tour, becoming the first Swiss rider to do so and later securing the road world title. Nice has been a favored location for the Tour since the 1920s, frequently serving as a stage start or finish, and notably hosted the first non-Parisian final stage in 2024 to accommodate the Olympic Games, which was considered successful.
