Abstract
This article systematically reviews recent literature on the integration of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), and informatics into medical imaging education. It identifies four key themes: the incorporation of AI and emerging technologies into curricula, foundational informatics concepts essential for medical imaging professionals, clinical applications of AI in imaging workflows (such as order scheduling, patient positioning, image acquisition, and reporting), and ethical and professional considerations including algorithmic bias and patient safety. The review highlights challenges in curriculum development due to time constraints and evolving technology, emphasizing the need for structured AI education to ensure competency, ethical practice, and patient-centered care. Future research is recommended to establish best practices for AI curriculum design, assessment of AI literacy, and ongoing professional training to maintain the profession's credibility amid rapid technological advancement.
