Abstract
The article focuses on the modernization initiative undertaken by the Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center (MCRRC) to enhance cancer surveillance through automation and artificial intelligence (AI). By integrating these technologies, MCRRC improved data completeness, reduced error rates and manual workload by over 20%, and shortened case closure times, surpassing national averages. The project addressed challenges such as staff adaptation, data variability, and system integration, demonstrating the potential for scalable informatics-driven improvements across cancer registries. This initiative highlights the importance of advanced technology adoption and change management in transforming cancer registry operations to meet modern healthcare demands.
