Abstract

Charlotte Benton, a prominent British researcher, writer, curator, educator, and advocate for history of architecture and design, passed away in 2024 at the age of 79. Her extensive contributions included involvement in major projects such as the Arts Council exhibition on British Art and Design before the War and the publication of Art Deco, 1910-1939. Benton's work also focused on women's contributions to design, exemplified by her exhibition on Charlotte Perriand, which highlighted the achievements of independent women designers.
