Abstract
The article focuses on the creative adaptation of Butoh principles, a Japanese avant-garde dance form, in the mixed-media performance titled *Möbius Strip*, which explores the embodied experience of time-space and the effects of war on ordinary people. Drawing from the Japanese phenomenological concept of *basho* (a time-space system) and the choreographic method of *Butoh-fu* (a notation based on qualia or "image-worlds"), the performance uses interlinked scores to depict the escalation of conflict and culminates in a peripeteia—a turning point revealing shared human fragility and the possibility of reconciliation beyond ideological divides. The work integrates movement, video, and sound to engage performers and audience in a dynamic, multisensorial exploration of temporality, presence, and the politics of time in neoliberal societies, aiming to offer a reflective and healing artistic response to contemporary warfare.
