Abstract

Mary Ann Wandell was a talented fiber artist who practiced her craft in various locations around the world. She learned the art of Japanese traditional Kimekomi dolls while living in Japan and Korea, and became a Licensed Instructor at the Mataro Doll Institute in Tokyo. She also repaired and made clothing for American dolls and became a teddy bear designer, creating original bears for the charitable organization "Good Bears of the World." Mary Ann's passion for crafting extended to knitting, crocheting, weaving, and spinning, and she even designed miniature Aran sweaters for her teddy bears. Her work left a lasting impression on the fiber arts community. [Extracted from the article]
