Abstract

The article focuses on the author's exploration of creating a single design, specifically a motif for nyzynka (a vertical weaving stitch from western Ukraine), using four different handwork techniques: surface embroidery, Valsesian puncetto (a knotted needle lace from Italy), filet crochet, and net darning. The author details the process and challenges faced in each technique, highlighting the adaptability of the design across various methods while emphasizing the importance of selecting appropriate materials. The exploration culminates in a reflection on the creative possibilities within needlework, encouraging others to experiment with their designs in different techniques. [Extracted from the article]
