Abstract

Hooked Slip stitch is one of the foundation stitches of crochet, and it creates a very dense, somewhat stiff fabric. Images courtesy of the Amana Heritage Society unless otherwise noted Postcard of the Amana Woolen Mill circa 1910 Identical right and left mittens worked in slip-stitch crochet. The calico was printed locally at the Amana calico print factory, and like yarn, designated dress and apron fabrics were provided free of charge. [Extracted from the article]
