Abstract
The article focuses on the exhibition "Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, which showcases nearly fifty of Winslow Homer's watercolors, alongside related works. Homer, known for his exceptional ability to depict the outdoors, transformed watercolor through innovative techniques and vibrant compositions, capturing various landscapes from the rugged Maine coast to tropical locales. The MFA houses the largest collection of Homer's watercolors, and this exhibition marks a rare opportunity to view these works together, as they have not been displayed collectively in nearly fifty years. The exhibition also traces Homer's artistic journey, highlighting the influences that shaped his work throughout his career. [Extracted from the article]
