Abstract

This article focuses on Jasmine Yuzicapi, also known as Healing Rain Water Woman, the owner and artist behind Yuzicapi Beadwork and Ribbon Skirts, a Winnipeg-based business. Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Yuzicapi draws on her Indigenous heritage and the teachings of her grandmother to create beadwork and ribbon skirts, which serve as both a creative outlet and a source of healing. She sells her work primarily through e-commerce platforms and local partnerships, such as with Anishinaabe Girl Designs, and actively engages in teaching workshops for Indigenous youth at community centers like Huddle Ka Ni Kanichihk. Yuzicapi aims to inspire others, especially Indigenous youth, to pursue their passions sustainably and hopes to expand her business to include a local shop offering both merchandise and educational opportunities.
