Abstract

This article reviews narrative literature on the influence of religion on female sexuality, focusing on studies published between 2017 and 2022. It identifies that religious beliefs, particularly within Islamic and Christian contexts, can negatively affect women's sexual health and quality of life through factors such as contraceptive nonuse, limited reproductive health knowledge, sexual submission, and menstrual taboos. The review highlights the need for more methodologically rigorous research to better understand and address the complex relationship between religiosity and female sexuality.
