Abstract
The article presents the discussion on historical movements and significant locations of the Hidatsa and Dakota tribes, including their migrations and interactions with European colonizers. Topics include the Hidatsa's relocation from Spirit Lake to the Missouri River, the Dakotas' search for opportunities and subsequent treaty with Americans; and the sacred significance of places like Devils Lake, Devil's Tooth, and Heart Hill to the Spirit Lake Dakota.
