Abstract
Because, as Eck notes, errors are "mighty embarrassing in a book on writing" (xi), I must commend the copy-editing of the Coven, Wheelan, and Quindlen texts. Presentations) by Charles Wheelan Coven writes with focus; Wheelan, with intention; Quindlen, with intensity; Eck, with distinctiveness. A former correspondent for the I Economist i who now serves as a public-policy instructor at Dartmouth College, Wheelan fills his book with stories, giving his book a chattier air than Coven's.
