Abstract

The article focuses on Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC) and its efforts to ensure seed sovereignty for the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara (MHA) Nation by preserving traditional seed varieties and gardening practices. Topics include the Earthlodge Model of Seed Relationships, partnerships for seed security and conservation, and the role of NHSC in safeguarding cultural knowledge through education, seed distribution, and intergenerational knowledge sharing.
