Abstract
This article highlights a selection of nonfiction books that cover a range of topics. Patricia Evangelista's memoir, "Some People Need Killing," explores the violence and language used in the Philippines during President Rodrigo Duterte's "war on drugs." Naomi Klein investigates the confusion between herself and Naomi Wolf, who spreads antivaccine rhetoric and conspiracy theories. Tracy K. Smith's memoir, "To Free the Captives," delves into racial violence in America, while Nathan Thrall's book follows a Palestinian father's journey amidst the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
