Abstract
The article focuses on the Nth Room Incident, a significant digital sexual violence scandal in South Korea that emerged in 2019, where perpetrators exploited a messaging app to share and sell nonconsensual sexual content, primarily targeting women and minors. The incident sparked widespread public outrage and led to the enactment of the Nth Room Prevention Act, which aimed to address digital sex crimes through censorship measures. However, the article critiques these measures for perpetuating existing stigmas around women's sexuality and failing to distinguish between consensual sexual expression and exploitation, ultimately arguing that such laws reinforce gendered citizenship and limit women's sexual autonomy. The author calls for a rethinking of these laws to better protect victims without infringing on women's rights to express their sexuality. [Extracted from the article]
