Abstract
Donkeys, horses, and cattle were used in ancient times to transport black tea along the Tea Horse and Silk roads. The tea was formed into bricks and dried for easier transportation. These pack animals also carried Chinese herbs and agricultural crops through mountain ranges. The Turkish language and its variations are still used by communities along the trade route, which extends from the Balkans and Anatolia to western China. Turkish horses are still used today by mounted police for crowd control. [Extracted from the article]
