Abstract

A new species of Conidae in the genus Gradiconus is named from the Georgian Subprovince of the Carolinian Molluscan Province, ranging from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina south to Fort Pierce, Florida. This Carolinian Atlantic coast conid species has been erroneously referred to for years as Gradiconus largillierti (Kiener, 1847), a species which is restricted to the Gulf of Mexico, from the northern section of the Suwannean Subprovince along the coast through the Texan and Yucatanean Subprovinces.
