Abstract
Researchers have successfully mapped and published the genomes of 51 animal species, including gharials and cloud leopards. This breakthrough could have significant implications for understanding human evolution. By comparing the DNA of humans and other animals, scientists can determine when and how humans diverged from other species. The mapping process has historically been time-consuming, but recent advancements in DNA mapping technology have significantly reduced the time required. The goal is to eventually sequence the genomes of all 275 vertebrate orders. [Extracted from the article]
